Archie Hall

Bug Hunts, Big Dreams, and Bigger Creatures

At just 4 years old, Isle of Hope resident Archie Hall is already a fearless explorer of the natural world. A pre-K student with a sharp eye for detail, Archie has spent the last two years on the island soaking up every opportunity to observe wildlife. From turtles and owls to crabs and the occasional armadillo, he can name them all—and hopes to get even closer.

If given a superpower, Archie would choose invisibility, not for mischief, but so he could sneak up on the biggest and wildest animals without startling them. That sense of curiosity fuels his favorite after-school activity: bug hunting. Whether it’s beetles, frogs, or flying insects, nothing escapes his attention.

Archie’s best friend is Penelope Sadler—“Peanut”—who shares his love of dancing and playing. But even the best backyard adventures can’t compete with a dream trip to the desert, where Archie hopes to find a scorpion or two.

His proudest moment? Getting his very first fishing pole from Bass Pro Shops with family at the cabin has become a treasured tradition, and those peaceful moments by the water inspire his dream of becoming a marine biologist. “I want to find new creatures and learn more about them,” he says.

When asked about favorite animals, Archie gives a classic Archie answer: manatees and mammoths—because they’re huge.

Whether he’s exploring tide pools or dreaming up desert expeditions, Archie approaches the world with awe, imagination, and a heart full of wonder.
