Josey Custom Cues & Repairs

Crafting Precision, One Cue at a Time

For more than three decades, Keith and Sherri Josey have called Isle of Hope home, drawn to its quiet beauty and easy connection to the water. Since 1990, they have embraced the area’s peaceful rhythm, from bluffside views to early morning wildlife, while staying close to the energy of Savannah.

Their creative path began with a mix of family influence and personal passion. Keith learned woodworking alongside his father, a master machinist and builder who instilled in him a deep respect for precision. Evenings often ended around a pool table, where his interest in the game took hold. Sherri, who grew up playing as well, shared that enthusiasm. What started as a need to repair a damaged cue soon turned into a calling. In 1992, after crafting his first custom piece, Josey Custom Cues & Repairs was born.

Today, Keith handcrafts each cue individually, working with different exotic woods and stone. His designs often reflect Medieval and Gothic influences, with crosses and architectural elements woven into the details. One standout piece, “The Dark Knight,” remains a favorite for its intricate design and the challenge of incorporating sterling silver.

In the early days, learning the craft required persistence as mentorship was limited. Through trial and error, Keith developed his own approach, later joining the American Cuemakers Association in 1995 and earning Cuemaker of the Year honors in 2011.

The Joseys have shared their work at local & national events, including the Isle of Hope Art & Music Festival, and enjoy supporting fellow artists. For Keith, the process is deeply personal.  He has always wanted to sing, so God told him to “sing through his hands with the art of cue building”.
