Relentless Renegades

This group of female poker players has been in Kelly Plantation for over a decade, meeting once a month in the members' homes and playing for hours. This is not your usual poker group, as they enjoy variety. During the evenings, they play over nineteen different poker games.
Yes, we play the usual Texas Hold-Em and the boring Seven Card Stud to get it out of the way, but most everyone's favorite is Baseball, Pass the Trash, and Criss Cross Wild. Everybody groans when the game of Follow the Queen is to be played. This game inevitably leads you down the path where you are betting heavily because you are sure you will pull in this big pot; then, BAM-O with the very last card, your perfect winning hand is turned upside down, and your winning wild cards are now worthless! Sometimes the pot gets pretty big and the tension grows….
Our present group consists of ruthless Lori Burkhart and Cindy Dohner, who has been caught taking a card under the table for a big win. Laurie Kane drives miles so she doesn’t miss a chance to take our money, and Laura Hall sometimes forgets that she can use only TWO cards in her hand and MUST use three from the board. Bummer as her sure win is dragged in by another player. Sara Wood is our renegade player with a stone face, which never registers that she is holding five ACES (using a few wild cards) as she pulls us all in to increase the pot. Missing on photo night is one of our star players, Joann Staub, who is trying her luck in a poker playoff in Vegas.
My readers know I do factual articles, and I hope you will forgive me this time and have a big hearty laugh. We actually have a real Pink Panther Poker Group that has been playing for over a decade, with a $5.00 buy-in per night.
