Rabbits, Rabbits Everywhere!
Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down Old Bayou Trail!

This sunny, almost-Easter day is filled with delight as I visit Cathy Sea, whose home is a whimsical wonderland. Walking in feels like falling down Alice’s rabbit hole—her collection of 56 bunnies, 13 chicks, three white sheep, and festive wreaths transform the space into a springtime fantasy. The bunnies, displayed in every size, shape, and color, have been collected over twenty years, each one added during the Easter season to celebrate the holiday.
Cathy’s love for bunnies began with just one, and as they multiplied, so did her collection, eventually spilling from the garden into her home. "Okay, we all know the story of how rabbits multiply quickly, and this was no different," Cathy said, "I have always had a fuzzy soft spot for bunnies. Before I knew it, I had an extensive collection that moved down the sidewalk." Today, the first three bunnies to move into the house sit atop her cabinets year-round, overseeing the festivities. The most beautiful intricate beaded placemats (perhaps ordered by the Queen of Hearts herself) are on tables and under arrangements. Bunnies painted in weirdly wonderful hues (maybe by the Mad Hatter after a draw on his psychedelic pipe?) and charming baby chicks sporting tiny bunny ears join the Easter parade. These playful additions add to the home’s Easter spirit.
The beaded pieces, like the long table runner with its truck full of pastel Easter eggs, are true works of art, as delicate and beautiful as the season itself. Cathy finds her treasures at places like Pier One, Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, and Marshalls. "I'm always on the lookout for a new bunny to adopt."
Though her collection is overflowing, Cathy’s home is far from cluttered. Each bunny, wreath, and mat is carefully placed, creating a magical atmosphere. Her whimsical, colorful world is a reminder that Easter—and the love of bunnies—can bring warmth and cheer year-round.
