The Long Journey

My persnickety, independent, and beautiful Siberian tabby cat, spotted with white nose and paws, was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, on June 14, 2021. The World Cat Federation lists her father as World Champion, Benjamin Zhemcnug Nevy, and her mother as Champion Larinda Spark Heart. Don’t you love that name? Perhaps this royalty is why she can be so aloof at times when meeting strangers. One has to ask politely if she will come over for a gentle rub!
While in Ukraine, her owner, Lada Molodetsky, entered her into the International Cat Show of 2021. The judges listed her with strong legs with round paws, silky, delicate, dense undercoat, and nice markings of white.  The tail was listed as correct, medium length, excellent, “dressed.”  The father’s color was grey, and the only gene transfer I see of that is three bandings of soft grey around the end of her tail. The judge's remarks were listed as, “Charming young lady!”
My granddaughter is allergic to cats, so I did some research and found that the Siberian cat is hypoallergenic! The hunt was on for me to find just the right cat.  Finding this one at three years old and at a reduced price, I jumped on it.
The cat that has come into my life is now named Lady Kotskiy, and as she comes from Ukraine, I will make note that in Ukrainian, Kotskiy means “cat.”  She has sparkling emerald eyes, is inquisitive, loves sunbeams, and birdwatching... She has become a great companion, on her terms. If not sleeping in her tower, she wants to be right beside me. When I’m on the computer, she walks across the keyboard for a few attention rubs, then settles down next to me for as long as it takes. Yes, we do talk to each other! Meowww!
