Primrose Coastal Italian is the latest to join the high-end Italian restaurants in the Destin area. And the good news is there are a number of dishes on the new menu that don’t appear anywhere else in town.

The opportunity to sample a few dishes on the night before the official opening was appreciated by the crowd gathered. Roving servers had offerings of red and white wine, champagne, and Negronis, the latter with a choice of spirit from gin or mezcal. Additionally, they presented appetizers including two different types of crab cakes, meatballs, and toasted bread points with red sauce and cheese.

The mains were Gnocchi al Pesto and Bolognese with Ribbon Pasta. The Bolognese was good, while the Gnocchi was excellent. Sides included Truffle Chive Polenta and Italian Roasted  Potatoes. A sampling of rich, tasty desserts finished the service.

In all, a welcome addition to the myriad dining options available to Destin dinners.
