Grady, Vivian, their daughter Sutton (2), have called Kings Point home for the past 3 years, where they share their lives with their two dogs, Bo and Sage. Grady and Vivian first met while out and about at a bar in The Heights. They ended up having drinks, which turned into dinner, and the rest is history! They were married in November of 2021 at Lakeside Terrace at The Clubs of Kingwood.
Grady had lived in the area for about 10 years, while Vivian grew up in Energy Corridor and lived in the city, so when looking for their first home they initially bought a home in Atascocita but quickly realized it just wasn’t the right long-term fit. After getting married and planning for a family, they decided they wanted a home in a neighborhood with trails and parks, great schools and a family-friendly atmosphere. That is exactly what they found here in Kings Point.
Vivian is a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Healthcare Administration and later went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She began her career in marketing and business development through an internship and drawn to the creativity, growth, and impact of the work, has been in the field ever since. Today, she’s the Corporate Director of Marketing & Business Development for Nutex Health Inc, a healthcare company that manages and operates micro-hospitals and IPAs nationwide. She works in Bellaire and travels to help onboard, train, and open new facilities. In addition, she does some consulting marketing for Grady’s company.
Grady is the CEO of Champion Integrated Building Solutions (CIBS), a company he co-founded last year with the mission of delivering Modular Electrical Integrated Buildings and equipment to various industries. After 14 years in the industry, Grady tells us “It became clear to me that we could provide better products to our customers so once an opportunity presented itself to start a new company, my business partners and I seized it.” Although the company is still in startup mode and his typical work weeks consist of 50-80 hours, Grady says, “I still try to find time to spend with my family, although there's not much down time around our house at the moment!”
Outside of work, Grady enjoys spending time with his family, relaxing outside with a cigar, and playing golf when he can. Vivian enjoys working on home projects from updates around the house to restoring, refinishing, and building furniture. “I work full-time and travel, so my home projects vary, but I always have an itch to update something. I don’t go long between projects, big or small,” she shares.
Her love for woodworking and home projects began after landing her first job and moving into her first apartment. “I had a limited budget and couldn’t afford the nice furniture I wanted so I bought the basics like a bed and couch-then decided to build the rest. With the help of my stepdad’s, who has the experience, and the tools needed. We have since built various pieces together from my first project, a dining room table and bench which I still have and use in our home, to a king bed frame, coffee tables, and more. It’s become a way to spend time together doing something we both enjoy.” For Vivian, these projects are not just practical but also a creative outlet and a way to make their house truly feel like home.
Both Vivian and Grady have demanding careers so they aren’t able to be as involved in the community as they would like, but they regularly attend events at The Clubs of Kingwood. Family nights are a big hit with their daughter, Sutton, and they enjoy the occasional wine dinner for some adult time.
Grady and Vivian are a fun, active couple who love spending time together and with their daughter, Sutton. They’ve always been a spontaneous couple, and they still try to be as adventurous as possible with a young child. While it is challenging as a young family, they have made a lot of effort to expose Sutton to new and exciting adventures. Sutton loves daycare and being outside, so they spend a lot of time outdoors together.
The Sanders family enjoys working out, hiking, traveling, and discovering new places around the city. They are big foodies - Vivian’s go-to restaurant is Potente, Grady loves Steak 48, and Sutton, surprisingly, is all about trying new foods. She often impresses them with her already refined taste. They also typically try several new spots during Houston Restaurant Weeks and aim for a steak and wine night once every couple of weeks. Saturday mornings are spent at home enjoying pancakes!
The family loves to cheer on the Houston Astros. They also like to travel! Some of their favorite vacation destinations include Napa, Disney, and various mountain hikes. They are also looking forward to a trip to Scotland and Ireland next year!
Vivian tells us their favorite part of living in Kings Point is “The trees, trails, and parks! One of the first things that amazed me was seeing kids riding bikes and walking on their own throughout the neighborhood. It reminded us of how we grew up and it's become rare, especially closer to the city. We wanted a neighborhood that was quiet and felt safe for our family and we found that here.”
