“My goal is to grow this business locally and then eventually to a larger audience on social media,” Huntley shares. Huntley loves living in Lake Windcrest and fishing all the lakes. It’s this love of fishing and community that has inspired him to found a local business that provides hand-made fishing lures. He’s also inspired by his two role models, his dad and his cousin Cavett. “They have both taught me to work hard at what you are passionate about and stay focused on reaching your goals,” Huntley says.

Of course, being a fourteen-year-old with their own business isn’t without its challenges. Huntley says he’s sometimes not taken seriously, and although it can be hard to tune out discouragement, he focuses on the support of his parents and family and remains true to his goals and dreams.

Outside of Mag Lures, Huntley has found great success in other endeavors. He is currently a member of the National Junior Honor Society, the football team, the fishing team, advanced robotics, and in the spring, he will play tennis. He is also in the MPJH band, in which he is first chair trombone. He recently competed in the Region IX All-Region Band competition, where he competed against 61 other trombones from nineteen regional junior highs and earned a spot in the Symphonic Band. He was one of only two students from MPJH to earn a spot in Region Band!

Through every venture, Huntley hopes to make a positive impact on the world by showing young people that entrepreneurship is possible at a young age. He hopes to show people that if you have an idea and are passionate about it, you can make it happen. He advises to put God first, to pray through everything, to stay focused, and block out the discouragement. With his work ethic and dedication to his passion, we can’t wait to see Huntley Walker and Mag Lures become the next big thing.
