Frankie Vernon
A blue-eyed boy finding his forever home
“My neighbor Amy found Frankie in her front yard,” says Darla Vernon, mom of Frankie, the 10-month-old cat. “He was a tiny, malnourished, scared kitten that was afraid of humans. She was determined to help him and eventually caught him.” Knowing that Darla and her husband Ron love cats, Amy asked if the Vernons could help little Frankie. “We took him in and nursed him back to health with the intention of putting him up for adoption, but we fell in love with him and decided to add him to our family!”
Frankie got his name as a recommendation from a friend of the Vernons, who said Frankie had blue eyes just like Frank Sinatra. Darla and Ron say Frankie’s “spicy determination” and ability to open cabinet doors make him a very special cat. Frankie also loves spring toys and gets very possessive if his other furry friends try to play with them. Ever playful, Frankie is an indoor cat who loves to play with his best friend, Thor, a Maine Coon. Although there is a rather large size difference, Frankie holds his own.
The Vernons' favorite memory of Frankie is his first RV trip to Garner State Park. “He loved sitting in the windows watching the birds.” If Frankie could go on any adventure, it would be back camping in the RV. Whether he’s home in Lake Windcrest or adventuring in the RV, Frankie’s big blue eyes look up at the Vernons with love.
