Diesel, the 6-year-old Doberman who also goes by D, Dee Dee B, or Doodles, joined his family at 14 months old after being adopted from Lone Star Doberman Rescue. In keeping with family tradition where all of their dogs receive a middle name starting with the letter "B," his full name is Diesel Bubblegum, which matches his sweet personality.

Diesel is best known for being the ultimate shadow to his mother, Natalie. As Natalie shares, "He’s our shadow ... follows me around everywhere." She says Diesel is an "awesome protector and fierce snuggler." He loves his family so much that he "drags his bed from room to room” just to stay by their sides. This constant companionship has even turned into a favorite family game, as "he’s really good at playing hide-and-seek with the kids, and helps them find mom when she’s 'playing,'" which are, of course, the moments when she is really enjoying some quiet alone time.

Famous in Lake Windcrest for his friendly demeanor, Diesel is a regular sight walking to the park with his human siblings. He is exceptionally patient with the daily bustle of a busy home; Natalie notes that "he is such a good sport with the kids dressing him up or pretending to be a vet and the constant noise (Girl Scout meetings and playdates)." He is always willing to show off those tricks, especially when rewarded with his favorite snacks, which always align with his uniquely vegan diet.

Diesel "loves to swim in the ski lake, even though, oddly enough, he won’t swim in the pool." If he could plan his dream adventure, "he would go to the beach to swim, run, and sunbathe!" For now, Diesel is happy keeping watch over his family, enjoying his homemade snacks, and bringing plenty of joy to everyone he meets in the neighborhood.
