Ricky Brito went from working with computers to working with cars. For some time, he had
dreamed of starting his own business. When he was laid off in 2025 by a Bellevue tech company,
he thought, “it’s time to prove myself.” BC Mobile Detailing was born. Together with his
brother, Rodrigo, Ricky provides high-quality detail work for all types of vehicles.

“I was living the tech life,” Ricky recalled. “But I thought, I could be good at this. I’ve been
talking about it and now is the perfect time.” Ricky and his brother have been successful co-
owners of BC Mobile Detailing ever since. Tacoma natives, they pride themselves in their ability
to return your vehicle to “like new” status. By “vehicle” they mean anything from cars and
trucks to large-sized RVs, boats – they’ve even detailed an ambulance. Smaller modes of
conveyance, such as a 4x4, are also in their wheelhouse. “For the most part, it could be
anything,” Ricky told us. “Usually, it’s the larger vehicles that we get because they’re large and
people don’t want to do it themselves.”

When it comes to the auto detailing business, that’s what it tends to boil down to: clients are
simply too busy or too overwhelmed to take care of their vehicles on their own. BC Mobile
Detailing, according to Ricky, is committed to making it as easy as possible for people to choose
them, with a streamlined appointment process and quick communication by phone or text. In
addition to Ricky and Rodrigo, they have one other person helping out while Ricky transitions
more into the administrative side of things. They also create engaging “before and after” videos
for the online social media community on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

Rodrigo was also on track for an IT career at the time Ricky invited him to join BC. The
youngest of three brothers, Rodrigo was interning at Amazon at the time. “I started the company
and brought him over,” said Ricky, who is the oldest. The family is originally from El Salvador
but call Tacoma home. As the oldest, Ricky is married with two kids, both boys, aged 5 and 3.
His wife is expecting at the end of 2026. At the still young age of 21, Rodrigo’s life is just
getting started. Neither are necessarily more “into” cars than anyone else; their rides are humble,
such as the white truck Ricky uses for work. But he makes sure he keeps the truck clean so that
“people can see that I live by my own words.” Recently, Ricky has been learning to play golf.

Being in the auto detailing trade is highly satisfying for Ricky. He enjoys the feeling of achieving
the finished product. Family and friends used to ask him if he would take care of their cars for
them. Now, he gets paid to do it for clients from south King County to north Thurston County.
Their advertising announces that BC does “Mobile Detailing, Ceramic Coating & Paint
Correction for auto, boats, golf carts, RVs near in Tacoma, Seattle, Olympia, Gig Harbor, and
everything in between.” And they come to you – be that your home or your office. “What we are
trying to do that separates us is we try to give the client an overall smooth and streamlined
experience,” Ricky said. “The biggest issue that people call us for is the lack of time for them to
do it themselves.”

As one might imagine, Ricky and Rodrigo have seen a lot of variety in the vehicles that come to
them.  At BC, they’ve seen whatever you can imagine. Common interior ailments are
pet urine and other types of stains that people don’t know how to get out. BC can also do some
minor body work, so the client doesn’t have to go to a body shop, such as polishing out those
“mistakes” that come from colliding with those pesky yellow poles.

“We try to make things easy for everybody and not interrupt their schedules,” Ricky said. When
it comes to recommendations, Ricky brought up removing trash inside of vehicles. In his professional view, it helps a person both mentally and hygienically to get the trash – especially large items – out of their cars. If not, people tend to develop what is called the “broken window theory” and say to themselves, “It’s already dirty so one more piece of trash isn’t going to hurt.” Before they know it, the car is stuffed with garbage. This attracts rodents and creates mold. Whereas if a person takes out the trash every time they leave the car, they are unlikely to allow the situation to get out of hand and more likely to keep the car clean.
