Adventure Is Out There

Arren Ward (13) is a modern-day explorer!

I’m Arren, and I’m in all honors courses and accelerated math that Fremont Jr. High. I play the piano and saxophone and participate in a community soccer league, snow skiing, traveling to other countries, gaming on my PC that I bought with my own earnings by working a lemonade stand and feeding neighbors’ pets.

Passions & Hobbies
Sports are important to me. I started playing soccer with the AYSO 1079-Mesa when I was 5 years old. Just like my two older brothers. My favorite positions are goalkeeper and center-back. Recently, I began playing pickleball with the firstyear league called crush pickleball; that’s been fun so far!

Music is also one of my favorite interests. I’ve played the piano since I was seven so that made it easier when I started to play the saxophone at 10 years old because I could already read notes. We even went on a school band trip in seventh grade to play the saxophone at Disneyland last year.

Traveling to other countries and around the United States with my parents is super fun. We have been to Japan, England, Germany, France, Austria and Italy. Japan is my favorite for food and customs, but I really had an awesome time in Germany when we rented electric scooters and rode around the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

Gaming on the PC with my friends is my ultimate favorite free time activity!  So many things to do and such little time!

Admiration
Zach, my oldest brother, is someone I really admire. He just started at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He was super good at soccer as a center forward and striker, pickleball and disc golf. He played soccer at Red Mountain High School (all four years). He taught me about working out at the gym and just being overall healthy and disciplined. He even went to Torreon, Mexico, for two years to be a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. He learned Spanish and can speak it fluently. He’s just a cool brother who is worth admiring!

Plans For the Future?
I’m not sure exactly what I want to become just yet. I think I still have some time to decide! I’m really interested in computers … so, maybe a computer engineer. I plan to attend Utah’s Brigham Young University campus.
