Ligonier Valley Learning Center (LVLC) has 40 years of experience providing a variety of quality services that promotes the emotional, behavioral, educational and physical development of children, adolescents, adults and their families. LVLC is a grassroots organization founded after Rebecca Faulk noticed a need for a high quality, educational full-day daycare program in the Ligionier Valley.

Today, Rebecca serves as the executive director of LVLC and ensures children receive quality care and engaging education. She has over 40 years of experience and training in the field and is dedicated to students’ success and wellness. What originally began as 10 children with two staff members has expanded into 49 educators serving hundreds of children in the community.

The Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and has received a “STAR 4” rating from Keystone Stars, the highest rating available. LVLC has a location in Latrobe and Ligonier, as well as Pre-K Counts classrooms in Baggaley and Mt. View Elementary Schools.

The Center follows the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards guidelines, developed by the state’s department of education, and creates developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for all of its students. The program’s uniquely spacious design allows children to explore and learn through play with plenty of educational opportunities. 

In addition to indoor activities, students spend time outside daily, weather permitting. The Center features an Outdoor Preschool classroom to encourage students to enjoy the outdoors and a recently opened Creative Arts Studio. Meals are provided to all students as well, and tuition assistance is available for qualifying families. LVLC is committed to continuous improvement, regularly reviewing and evaluating its programs to meet the evolving needs of the community.

Additionally, LVLC recognizes the importance of mental well-being, and the organization offers comprehensive mental health services through its Counseling Center. Highly skilled and licensed clinicians provide individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as specialized Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) services. The mental health services are tailored to respect each individual's distinct family, cultural, and spiritual beliefs, ensuring personalized and effective care.
