Redbirds Soar to 4th-Place Finish at State

The De Pere Redbirds varsity boys golf team capped off an impressive season with a 4th-place finish at the WIAA State Tournament held at the beautiful University Ridge Golf Course.

After finishing Day 1 tied for 7th place, the Redbirds put together an outstanding second-round performance, climbing the leaderboard and securing a top-four finish in the state.

The team consisted of three juniors—Jonah Garot, Cameron Bjorge, and Cooper Eakin—along with two freshmen, Grant Lawton and Palmer Anderson. Throughout the two-day tournament, the Redbirds continued to make history, setting and then breaking their own school records for lowest team score on consecutive days.

Leading the way was freshman Grant Lawton, who earned an impressive 10th-place individual finish, helping power the team to one of the best state performances in program history.

The Redbirds’ combination of veteran leadership, young talent, and record-breaking play made for a memorable showing on the state’s biggest stage and provides plenty of excitement for the future of De Pere boys golf.
