A Legacy of Lawn Care Excellence
Lakeland Lawn Care is a family-owned business with deep roots in Wisconsin. Founded in 1973 as Lakeland Landscape in Manitowoc by Elroy Haupt, the company initially focused on landscaping and design. In the 1980s, Dan Haupt expanded into lawn maintenance and fertilizer applications, eventually leading to the creation of Lakeland Lawn Care in 1990. Mike and Jenny Haupt took over the business in 2003, relocating it to the Green Bay area and expanding its services. Today, Lakeland Lawn Care proudly serves residential and commercial clients throughout Green Bay and the Fox Valley.
Comprehensive Lawn & Pest Control Services
Lakeland Lawn Care specializes in weed control and fertilization through a six-application lawn care program. Additional services include core aeration, grub control, insect and disease diagnosis, soil testing, and soil amendment applications. They also offer exterior pest control solutions, including ant, bug, and mosquito treatments, to keep homes and yards pest-free all summer long.
What Sets Lakeland Lawn Care Apart?
Lakeland Lawn Care’s success is built on a commitment to excellence. The team believes in treating people like they matter, ensuring top-tier service with no corners cut. Half of their employees have over 20 years of experience in the green industry, and the other half are not far behind. Mike and Jenny take pride in creating a positive company culture, showing their employees respect and gratitude, which translates into outstanding service for their customers.
They also focus on slow, steady growth, prioritizing quality over rapid expansion. Their mission is simple—to provide an amazing customer experience, create beautiful lawns for families to enjoy, and be incredibly easy to do business with. Their vision remains the same: to be the best lawn care service in the area, with the best employees, equipment, communication, and results.
Advice for Homeowners
Jenny emphasizes that while many lawn care companies offer similar services, it’s the delivery and company culture that truly set businesses apart. Lakeland Lawn Care focuses on building relationships and making every customer feel like part of their family.
"I like to say we 'spread love,' not just fertilizer," Jenny shares. "We also don’t get wrapped up in what our competitors are doing. We put our time and energy into improving our business by perfecting the services we offer and implementing systems to provide better communication."
A Family Rooted in Community
Jenny and Mike’s story began long before they became business partners. Jenny grew up in Green Bay, while Mike was raised in Manitowoc. Their families had cottages in Little Sturgeon, where they met as kids. Years later, they married and built a life together with their two sons, Ashton and Mason.
The Haupt family shares a deep love for golf. Mike introduced the boys to the sport at a young age, and now both are excelling on and off the course.. Ashton recently graduated from UWGB with a degree in finance and marketing. Mason is in his junior year at UWGB, working towards a Business Management degree while playing on the golf team. When Mike isn’t watching his sons play, he squeezes in a few rounds himself. Jenny, on the other hand, prefers relaxing at home with their two French Bulldogs, Bogey and Birdie. Florida is their home away from home, where they love to travel whenever possible.
Giving Back to the Community
Lakeland Lawn Care is passionate about supporting the local community. They sponsor several youth sports organizations, recognizing the importance of teamwork and activity in children’s development.During the holidays, they make an effort to give back, including volunteering as Salvation Army bell ringers. They also participate in initiatives like Nature’s Best Floral’s “Adopt an Elder” program, which delivers flowers to assisted living facilities.
Lakeland Lawn Care also proudly participates in Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops, which connects military families across the nation to complimentary lawn care services. They donate lawn care services to up to 10 families per season in their service area who are affected by active-duty deployment. This initiative helps ease the burden for military families, ensuring they have one less thing to worry about while their loved ones serve.
“My goal is to get out at least once a month and do something meaningful”, says Jenny.
This year we are donating to Make A Wish- Wisconsin, it's a great foundation that grants wishes for children with critical illnesses.
