On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin (DSAW) will welcome families, friends, advocates, and community members to Capital Credit Union Park (2231 Holmgren Way, Green Bay, WI 54304) for our 18th Annual Awareness Walk—our largest fundraising event of the year and a celebration of awareness, inclusion, and community. 

Registration and event sign-in begin at 11:00 A.M. The afternoon is full of connection, celebration, and purpose leading up to the walk. Every dollar raised through this event directly supports DSAW's programs and services throughout the year. Funds raised help provide educational opportunities, family support, social events, advocacy efforts, and meaningful connections for individuals with Down syndrome and those who love them. 

One of the most anticipated moments of the day is the 21 Showcase, a heartfelt celebration that reminds us exactly why this event matters. Beginning at 2:00 P.M., individuals with Down syndrome will each have their own special moment to walk the red carpet as their name and a short personal biography are announced. Their photo will be displayed on the stadium's big screen while family, friends, and supporters cheer them on. It's a powerful celebration of individuality, accomplishments, and the unique gifts each person brings to our community.  

This year's event is centered around a simple but powerful theme: Rock Your Socks for Inclusion! By walking together, we're creating a community where individuals with Down syndrome are seen, celebrated, valued, and given every opportunity to thrive. Whether you're a longtime supporter or attending for the first time, your participation helps build a more inclusive future for everyone. 

As we gather for our 18th annual walk, we're also looking ahead with excitement. In just two years, DSAW will be celebrating 20 years of Awareness Walks in the Green Bay chapter—a remarkable milestone that reflects two decades of empowering individuals with Down syndrome, supporting families, and strengthening communities across Wisconsin. The journey to that celebration begins now, and this year's walk is another important step toward an even brighter future.
