I have been living in Lake Forest for two decades, and I have seen several iterations of a community magazine of interest to - and benefit of - the residents of this beautiful enclave on the East end of Louisville Metro. Over the past year or so, we saw a dramatic and spectacular improvement in all aspects of "our" magazine, one that had my wife and I, as well as our neighbors, sit up and pay attention. This monthly publication had gone from a drab, boilerplate, and general interest paper to an attractive, colorful magazine. But much more importantly, the publisher, Ms. Marlena Docter, has taken pride and ownership and one can feel her enthusiasm, energy and love of her community and its residents. She is a fantastic planner, looking out over the next 6 to 12 months and encouraging us to contribute ideas, stories, and suggestions on how to make our publication - and by extension our community - more vibrant and exciting. Marlena's fingerprints are all over the magazine, which is now full of relevant and interesting articles about upcoming events, opportunities to volunteer, and other feel good essays. Most importantly, we - and I know our neighbors as well - very much look forward to receiving our copy of Stroll LF every month. Invariably, when we get together for social events, some of the featured news events and occasional articles about some of our more interesting residents come up, and with it a feeling of pride and knowledge that we are lucky to live in Lake Forest. Marlena, you are a formidable ambassador for our community!
