In Loving Memory of Juno: A Legacy of Comfort and Care

At Stroll LF, we often have the privilege of celebrating the lives of remarkable pets in our community—but few have touched hearts quite like Juno. As our very first cover pup, Juno's presence left a lasting impression, not just in Lake Forest, but across the entire Norton Healthcare family.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Juno’s unexpected passing at the age of 10. A beloved service dog and cherished family member, Juno lived a life of purpose, love, and unwavering dedication.

Juno was more than a dog—she was a healer. As a proud member of Norton Healthcare's Heel Dog Heal team, she spent six years providing support, comfort, and joy to patients, families, and staff. Her gentle soul made rounds through Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital, Norton Children’s Hospital, and Norton Hospital, often appearing in unexpected places to offer her quiet strength and calm presence.

Heather Stohr, Juno’s favorite human and loving companion, shared that Juno continued her work until the very end—doing what she did best: being there for others. Just weeks ago, Juno celebrated her 10th birthday, a milestone made even more poignant by the legacy she leaves behind.

Juno's impact extends beyond her daily work. She was a mother to a line of service dogs, with many of her puppies continuing her mission of healing and hope. Among them is Yarie, who now sees patients and staff at Norton Children's Medical Center, carrying on Juno’s legacy with every pawstep.

Tributes have poured in from all corners of the community—testaments to the countless lives Juno touched. She wasn’t just a service dog; she was a symbol of compassion and resilience, an ambassador of hope during some of life’s most difficult moments.

To Heather and her family: Stroll is thinking of you during this time. Thank you for sharing Juno with all of us. Her spirit will forever remain part of the fabric of our community, woven into the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Rest well, sweet Juno. Your work here is done, but your love lives on.
