For Brad and Amber Pfister, helping people has always been at the center of their lives. As longtime Lake Forest residents and healthcare professionals, the couple built their careers around caring for others. Now, through their new business, Square Cow Moovers, they are bringing that same servant-hearted approach to helping families throughout Louisville, including their fellow Lake Forest neighbors.
Amber grew up in East Tennessee, while Brad was raised in Winchester, Kentucky. Their paths crossed while attending pharmacy school at East Tennessee State University, where they quickly discovered they shared not only a passion for healthcare but also similar values rooted in service, hard work, and community.
After graduating, the couple moved to Louisville in 2010 and settled in Lake Forest the following year. Over the past 15 years, they have built both a family and a life deeply connected to the community they proudly call home.
“We’ve loved raising our family in Lake Forest,” Amber said. “It’s such a welcoming neighborhood, and we’ve built so many meaningful relationships here over the years.”
Both Brad and Amber pursued careers in pharmacy, dedicating themselves to helping others through healthcare. Brad continues to practice pharmacy today, while Amber recently made a major career transition that ultimately led the couple down an unexpected entrepreneurial path.
Last fall, Amber stepped away from pharmacy practice to focus on managing the couple’s rental properties. During that time, the pair began exploring opportunities to own a business together, one that aligned with their values and allowed them to continue serving others in a meaningful way.
That search led them to Square Cow Moovers, a moving company franchise based in Austin, Texas. “We really connected with the company’s guiding principles,” Amber explained. “At the end of the day, our goal is simply to help people. Moving can be one of the most stressful times in someone’s life, and we wanted to be part of making that experience easier and more positive.”
What stood out most to the Pfisters was the company’s emphasis on respect, kindness, and service; values they felt were often missing in the moving industry.
Square Cow Moovers operates under the slogan “Movers with Manners,” and the phrase is much more than just a catchy tagline. In fact, “Yes Ma’am, Yes Sir, No Problem, My Pleasure” is printed directly on the back of every employee’s uniform shirt as a daily reminder of how team members are expected to treat both customers and one another.
“We truly believe manners matter,” Amber said. “We want every customer interaction to feel respectful, thoughtful, and helpful. It’s important to us that people feel cared for throughout the entire process.”
In addition to emphasizing professionalism and courtesy, the company also operates with a philosophy they call “Seek to Serve.” Rather than simply completing a job, the team actively looks for opportunities to go above and beyond for clients.
Whether it’s easing the stress of a family relocating across town, helping an elderly homeowner downsize, or assisting a fellow Lake Forest resident during a major life transition, the Pfisters want their customers to feel supported every step of the way.
“Our focus is always on people first,” Amber said. “Of course, we want to provide excellent moving services, but more importantly, we want customers to feel like they are genuinely cared for.”
For Brad and Amber, opening Square Cow Moovers has become a natural extension of the life they’ve already built, one centered on serving others, strengthening community connections, and helping neighbors during important moments in their lives.
Now, as Lake Forest residents themselves, the Pfisters are especially excited to help fellow neighbors with one of life’s biggest transitions while bringing a little extra kindness and courtesy along the way.
