Meet Piper, The Smith Family’s Snuggly Sidekick

If you ask the Smith family about their beloved pup, Piper, one thing is clear: She is equal parts cuddle bug and creature of habit.

Piper is a two-year-old petite Goldendoodle who found her way into the Smith family’s hearts after they puppy-sat for a friend’s dog. Saying goodbye proved harder than expected. “The whole family was teary-eyed,” Ashley shares, so they decided to welcome a puppy of their own.

These days, Piper is happiest right where she belongs: close to her people. A self-proclaimed couch potato, she has claimed her spot on the top of the couch and insists on always being in contact with someone. Whether she is riding along for school pickup, going for a walk, or curling up in your lap, Piper is all about together time.

What the Smith family loves most is her sweet and steady nature. Piper is predictable, always nearby, and never one to wander too far. Her affectionate personality makes her the kind of dog you cannot help but love.

When it comes to treats, Piper keeps things interesting. She comes running at the sound of the ice machine and happily crunches away. She also has a surprising taste for insects, including ants, spiders, and even cicadas.

And her special talent? Sleeping. Piper truly has it mastered. She happily tucks herself into her crate at night and can sleep for 12 to 14 hours before needing a gentle nudge to start her day. And, of course, that is usually followed by a nap or two.

Life with Piper is cozy, predictable, and full of love, just the way the Smith family likes it.
