Hi! We’re Holly and Patrick Marin-Finn, proud Newport Beach natives, newlyweds, and puppy parents to Charlie, our seven-month-old Golden Retriever, who has quickly become our favorite excuse to meet new neighbors. If you’ve spotted an overly friendly puppy convinced every person on Lido is here just to pet him, you’ve probably met Charlie.

 

Lido has been part of our story long before we officially became neighbors. For years, the DeAngelos (Holly’s family) have called the island home, and some of our favorite memories have been made here. Family has always been at the center of our lives, and one of the greatest gifts of living on Lido is getting to share life’s everyday moments together. Whether it’s an impromptu family dinner, celebrating holidays, or simply stopping by to say hello, we never take for granted how special it is to have the people we love just around the corner.

 

Our story is proof that Orange County can feel both incredibly big and surprisingly small. Patrick grew up just across the harbor on West Bay Avenue—close enough that we joke we were practically neighbors before we ever met. We attended rival high schools (Mater Dei and Orange Lutheran), went to the same college, shared plenty of mutual friends, and somehow still managed to miss each other completely.

 

Then came 2020. In the middle of COVID, our paths finally crossed. It’s hard to believe we spent so many years unknowingly circling the same harbor. We can clearly see God’s hand throughout our story, and our faith has been the foundation of our relationship from the very beginning, continuing to shape how we approach marriage, family, and the life we’re building together.

 

Five years later, we were married in Charleston, South Carolina, and today we feel incredibly grateful to be building our life together on Lido.

 

During the week, Holly is a Marketing Manager at U.S. Bank, and Patrick works in Commercial Finance with Convoy Capital, partnering with clients across the United States. We both love what we do, but the moments we value most are the ones spent together with family and friends.

 

Outside of work, we’ve always loved being on the go—traveling, exploring new places, and filling our calendar with plans. But moving to Lido has changed our pace in the best way. While we still love to travel and stay active, we’ve found ourselves slowing down and appreciating the simple joy of being home.

 

These days, you’ll usually find us walking Charlie around the island, taking a Duffy ride with family and friends, trying a new local restaurant, or watching the sunset over the bay. We love hosting, and our favorite nights are often the ones spent around the table—good food, family gathered together, neighbors stopping by, and Charlie making sure everyone gets a proper greeting.

 

What we love most about Lido isn’t just the beautiful homes or waterfront views—it’s the people. It’s the kind of neighborhood where a quick walk turns into a long conversation, where generations know one another, traditions are carried on, and community truly feels like family (and some actually are).

 

Choosing Lido felt less like finding a new home and more like coming home. Between Patrick growing up just across the harbor, my family’s roots on the island, and the opportunity to build our life together here, there really wasn’t anywhere else we wanted to be.

 

More than anything, we’re grateful for our faith, our families, and this incredible community. We feel so fortunate to call Lido home, and we’re excited for the day we get to raise a family of our own here and create the same kind of memories that made us fall in love with this community in the first place.
