Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? I was born in Washington, D.C, but moved to Indiana in 1976 and have been here ever since. 

Now... can you share more about your family? I moved my family here to Raineybrook in 1991. My three daughters went to Mintonye, Southwestern, and then McCutcheon High School before branching out to college for their own careers. We all still reside here or near the Lafayette area, with much of my family working with me. It’s been a beautiful thing to share so much time with my family. 

What does it feel like seeing Raineybrook grow as a neighborhood? We started in the older part of the subdivision before much was developed in 1991. When my youngest child was in grade school, we moved to the newer part with property on the lake. Before much of it was developed, my family had so many rich memories of riding ATVs, snowmobiles, and time on the lake as they grew up. And now it is a place where my entire family and grandkids can enjoy some of the same things. 

Name of Your Business: The Groove 

What services or products do you offer? Group fitness classes focusing on HIIT, strength building, and CrossFit. Personal training. 

How long have you been involved? What does your volunteer work include? I came to Lafayette to work for what was then the Mike Raisor Automotive Group. That is where I spent the majority of my career before branching out into developing my own automotive group in Kentland, Rockville, Attica, and Lafayette, IN. Much of my business I like to keep local and use other local businesses to support our local economy. Having that support in small towns is an incredible thing to harness within a business, and we are so thankful for all of our customers’ loyalty over the years as we have grown. 

How can others get involved in this organization? Our fitness center provides a dynamic, one-hour workout experience led by a certified coach specializing in HIIT, CrossFit, and strength/conditioning. We pride ourselves on being family-friendly, with a dedicated, safe kids’ room where children can play securely while their parents focus on their fitness goals. This blend of expert coaching and a family-oriented atmosphere at an unbeatable price truly sets us apart. 

Why did you choose this particular non-profit or cause?    To reach the people who are looking for community and family connection through movement, and improvement in their mind and fitness goals.
