Darren’s journey into the world of beauty started far from Long Island’s shores, in the bustling city of Dallas, Texas. After training and perfecting his craft in the Lone Star State, he set his sights on New York City, bringing his talents to the world of film, television, theater, and commercials. His work in the city earned him a reputation as a trusted stylist and makeup artist, where he developed relationships with some of the industry's top names. However, after a few years in the bright lights of the Big Apple, Darren felt drawn to a more intimate, community-oriented atmosphere.

 

Darren soon found his way to Sea Cliff, where he began his Long Island career. It was here that Darren found a home, both in his career and the close-knit community of Sea Cliff. With his creative spirit and personalized approach, Darren quickly became a favorite, cultivating a loyal clientele. His clients appreciated his ability to not only create beautiful hairstyles but also listen and truly connect with each person who sat in his chair.

 

In March 2004, with the support of his ever-growing following, Darren took the bold leap of opening his own salon in nearby Glen Cove. His vision? To create a space that blended the high standards of New York City salons with the warm, welcoming atmosphere of a local community. Many of his clients have remained loyal ever since, becoming not just customers but lifelong friends.

 

January 2015 marked a new chapter for Darren’s Hair Salon when it found its current home on Birch Hill Road in Locust Valley. The salon has since become a beacon of beauty in the area, offering expert styling, coloring, and makeup services, all with a personal touch. Darren’s dedication to his craft is matched only by the commitment and talent of his team, who share his passion for creativity and client care.

 

For Darren and his team, being part of the Locust Valley community has been a rewarding experience.
