Dallas Comedy Club: Where Laughter Lives in the Heart of Deep Ellum

If you love to laugh, Dallas Comedy Club (DCC) is the place to be in DFW. With two showrooms, more than 200 seats, and dozens of performances every week, DCC offers everything from world-class headliners to the best up-and-coming local acts. Whether you’re looking for improv, stand-up, sketch, or storytelling, you’ll find a show that fits your funny bone, and maybe even discover your new favorite comedian.

From New York Stages to a Dallas Dream
Owners Ian and Rosie Caruth met through improv, trained and performed at legendary New York venues like Upright Citizens Brigade and Magnet Theater, and eventually returned home to Dallas determined to build a comedy hub of their own. After years of planning, they opened Dallas Comedy Club on Labor Day weekend 2021 in the former home of the beloved Dallas Comedy House. With a few key renovations and a lot of heart, the Caruths turned the once–auto body shop into a vibrant gathering space that honors Deep Ellum’s creative spirit.

More Than Just Performances
What sets DCC apart is its thriving Training Center. Classes in improv, stand-up, sketch, and storytelling welcome students of all ages and experience levels. Many alumni are now performing professionally across the metroplex, and the club also teaches businesses and nonprofits to use comedy skills for sharper communication and stronger teams.

A Community Built on Joy
The Caruths and their team have cultivated a warm, tight-knit community. “It’s a huge honor to see a line wrapped around the building for our open mic,” they say. Staff members look out for each other like family, sometimes literally inflating each other’s car tires before the end of a shift. Regulars know to look for playful touches like garage-door patios nodding to the building’s past, surprise dog playdates featuring unofficial mascots Bando, Pongo, and Lucy, and the ever-growing collection of performer photo-stickers traded like comedy baseball cards.

Giving Back, Laugh by Laugh
DCC partners with 24HourDallas to keep nightlife safe and is proud to be Copper Star Certified for its commitment to an inclusive environment. The club also shares laughter with neighbors across the street at the American Cancer Society’s Gene and Jerry Jones Family Hope Lodge, frequently donating tickets to guests undergoing treatment. One memorable evening, a couple celebrating their anniversary before starting cancer treatment enjoyed a complimentary night of joy, an experience that perfectly reflects DCC’s belief that laughter is powerful medicine.

Looking Ahead
Having just celebrated its fourth anniversary, Dallas Comedy Club is working tirelessly to put DFW on the national comedy map alongside New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The goal? To make Dallas a destination city for comedy and to have people move here just to be part of DCC’s high-caliber shows and classes.

Whether you’re signing up for a workshop, catching a national headliner, or swapping stickers with fellow comedy fans, Dallas Comedy Club promises more than a night out, it’s an extraordinary shared experience where laughter connects the community, one punchline at a time.
