From the moment I walked in, to the moment I tipped my stylist goodbye, there was a feeling of warmth, lightheartedness and sincerity at Johnny Rodriquez the Salon. Welcomed by red velvet stanchions at the front door, you instantly feel like a movie-star walking onto a set where you are the star. This is the vibe. Swarmed with attention by the reception, the manager, and a stylist, I was made to feel oh-so-special. Drinks? Well only if you insist.  

The staff at JR the Salon started my day of pampering and transformation by introducing me to my stylist, Alyssa. Her mission was to transport me from the land of the ho-hum and deliver me to the shores of a world that is shiny, bright and beautiful. See her looks on Instagram @alyssaa_hair.

Off we go to the spinning black chair, where all the magic happens. Starting with an in-depth consultation, we discussed what’s so right now and what I wanted to change.  She had asked me to bring a few inspo pictures and I promised I wouldn’t be mad if I didn’t wind up looking exactly like Julianne Moore! Then we talked about a few possible options and landed on a long bob for the cut. And for the color, we went with golden highlights and auburn low lights, to achieve a natural look with varied but blended shades.  Then she added a glossy toner and other healing treatments to my hair. 

Cheerful, happy and ever smiling, my Style Captain gave me a fabulous new look. I am thrilled. And I would like to give a sincere shout out to everyone at JR the Salon for helping to bring out my inner movie-star – just in time for the holidays.
