Step Back in Time: An Evening of Architecture and Insight in Greenland Hills
Neighbors join architect Stuart Mutt for a guided walk through the charm and character of Tudor Revival homes.
This past April, neighbors gathered for a special evening walk through Greenland Hills, led by architect Stuart Mutt as part of the neighborhood’s Centennial celebration. This event marked the second in a popular series, offering residents the opportunity to explore the architectural heritage that defines the community.
During the walk, Stuart shared his expertise and observations as a dedicated student of revival-style architecture. He highlighted key features of the Tudor Revival and other early 20th-century styles found throughout the neighborhood, noting distinctive builder decisions and design elements preserved through CD9 zoning protections.
Participants came away with a richer understanding of the neighborhood’s character, along with new architectural vocabulary and a deeper appreciation for the homes that make Greenland Hills unique. The walk concluded with refreshments and conversation, and many attendees expressed interest in future events of this kind.
