Morning Walks, Park Days & Barbeque Nights with the Carrolls
Holland, James, Chris, and Baby Carroll (coming April 2026!)
The Carroll family has fully embraced life in the M Streets, where friendly faces, lively parks, and neighborhood charm make every day feel like home. Holland and James Carroll are proud parents to their son, Chris, and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their newest family member this coming spring. Their household also includes three beloved cats, Blondie, Bowie, and Dolly, who add plenty of personality to their days.
James is the Owner and President of Spring Creek Barbeque, while Holland serves as the Director of Asset Management at Panattoni Development. When they’re not busy with work, the Carrolls enjoy making the most of their community. “Chris loves going to Glencoe Park,” Holland shares. “He’s made so many friends in the neighborhood and feels very much at home there.”
The Carrolls are also active members of the GHNA and the local Crime Watch, and they make it a point to participate in various neighborhood events. “We love that there are so many children for Chris to play with,” says Holland. “He can walk out the front door and instantly find a few friends ready to play. Plus, having such a great park within walking distance makes it easy for all of us to get outside.”
For new families moving into the M Streets, Holland offers a simple but heartfelt piece of advice: “You’ll meet so many neighbors on morning walks! Just get out and stroll to Window Seat or Café Duro, you’ll start making tons of friends right away.”
When it comes to local favorites, the Carrolls are loyal supporters of nearby restaurants like Terilli’s, Goodwin’s, Window Seat, Café Duro, Sister, and Wabi House. Their go-to park is, of course, Glencoe Park, and their favorite easy weeknight dinner at home is salmon, broccoli, and garlic bread, simple, healthy, and a family hit.
As for downtime, Chris loves Cars, Daniel Tiger, and Bluey, though screen time is rare and reserved for sick days. When the holidays roll around, the Halloween Parade and Easter Egg Hunt are Carroll family favorites.
The family’s most cherished getaway spot is Aspen, Colorado, where Holland and James were married. “It’s fun to share that place with our growing family now,” Holland says. And when they’re home in Dallas, one of their most treasured spots remains the Dallas Arboretum. “It really feels like a local gem,” she adds.
Whether exploring the neighborhood parks, strolling to a favorite café, or taking in the seasonal beauty of the Dallas Arboretum, the Carrolls are fulling enjoying all the perks of living in the M Streets. With crisp November days ahead, they encourage neighbors, both new and longtime, to step outside, soak up the cooler weather, and discover the little moments that make this community so special. After all, some of the best memories are made just by taking a walk down your own street.
