The Grahams: Porch Chats, Big Adventures, and Holiday Cheer

From chasing eclipses around the world to savoring slow evenings on their front porch, the Graham family brings curiosity, connection, and a spirit of gratitude to life in the M Streets.

There’s something special about families who bring both adventure and warmth to neighborhood life - and the Graham family embodies just that. Andrew and Sophia Graham, along with their two daughters - Petra (4), Amalia (3), and son baby Malleck (who turns eight months in December) - and their two Australian Shepherds, Juniper and Prairie, have called the M Streets home for just over two years. In that time, they’ve embraced every bit of this friendly, walkable neighborhood they now call home.

Both originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Andrew and Sophia actually went to the same high school - though, as Andrew insists, he doesn’t remember meeting her there. Fate, however, had other plans. The two crossed paths years later at his cousin’s wedding and began dating while both living in Denver. Their careers took them from Colorado to Midland, Texas, and ultimately to Dallas, where family ties and community charm sealed the deal.

Andrew, an Exploration Manager at Verdad Resources, and Sophia, an energy attorney currently on sabbatical to focus on family life, are raising their girls to be as curious and connected as they are. “We’re a maximalist family,” Sophia laughs. “We have a lot of hobbies and curios - rock hounding, fossil hunting, camping, and art collecting. Our home looks a little like a natural history museum - but with a strict rule that neighborhood nature stays outside!”

When they’re not exploring, you can find the Grahams on their front porch chatting with neighbors, cheering on the girls at soccer or gymnastics, or hosting friends for an evening of good food and great conversation. Andrew is known for his grilling and smoking skills, while Sophia enjoys putting together elaborate meals. Every night ends with a family gratitude ritual - sharing what they’re thankful for and the funniest part of their day.

The Grahams’ love for adventure extends far beyond their street. They’re self-proclaimed “eclipse chasers,” having traveled to see total eclipses in 2017 and again in 2024 - and they’re already planning a 2027 trip to Tunisia for the next one. Both Andrew and Sophia share a deep love of travel and exploration - after college, they each spent six months exploring South America, with Andrew even biking solo from Tierra del Fuego to Lima, Peru.

Closer to home, they love walking or biking through the neighborhood, often stopping to chat with friends along the way. “We’re so thankful to live in a place where the kids can grow up surrounded by such a strong sense of community,” Sophia shares. “Watching their friendships bloom right here on our street is something really special.”

This holiday season, the Grahams are embracing gratitude - the kind that comes from slowing down, sharing good food, and appreciating the beauty right outside their door. “Go outside and get to know your neighbors,” Sophia says. “That’s what makes this place feel like home.”
