Nori
For those frequent dog walkers of Worcola, you will recognize the adorable, lovable face of Nori Plasencia. I first met Nori (oh yeah, John and Ariel too) on one of my many walks down Worcola. She walked right up to me and treated me like her very best friend. She snuggled in my lap and gazed up at me with her trusting sweet brown eyes and I immediately fell in love.
John and Ariel moved to the area four years ago from Charlotte, North Carolina. John always knew he wanted a golden retriever, he just wanted to be sure they were in a place to provide the best life possible. That meant living somewhere that had a sense of community.
Community is what they found! Through neighbors and friends, they have resources available to be sure Nori is watched and cared for when work duty pulls them away from home. However, most of the time, one of them is home to be sure their little girl is pampered, spoiled and enjoying lots of love.
John works in commercial real estate, so he can work from home many days. And Ariel is an on-air reporter for WFAA Dallas, which keeps her local, with minimal travel. Since Ariel’s job doesn’t require a lot of take-home work, she has extra time to devote to Nori. This extra time is what allowed Ariel to plan an all-out, super fun 3rd birthday party for Nori. Uptown Pup was filled with 8-9 of Nori’s closest furry friends. They partied in an enclosed private yard with Nori adorning a glitter crown! She was a princess for a day!
Nori doesn’t need her crown to be the princess of Worcola. She is instantly recognized for her calm, loving demeaner. I don’t feel slighted in any way as she moves from my hugs and kisses to the next individual that shows her affection. I’m just happy she considered me for one of her many stops.
