Meet the Lillback Family: Life, Love & Community in the M Streets

David and Katie Lillback have built a warm, welcoming life in the historic M Streets district, one that blends creativity, family connections, and a deep appreciation for their neighborhood. Married for decades, David is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, while Katie proudly wears the titles of wife, mother, and grandmother. Their home is shared with Truff, their playful 1½-year-old Lagotto Romagnolo who keeps everyone entertained with his evening “people-watching” sessions from the picture window.
Family is never far away. Just a block over live their children, grandchildren, and Gunner, the family’s cheerful Westie. Their youngest daughter lives in Plano with her energetic Australian Shepherd, Knox. The couple loves cheering on their grandkids at soccer games and dance recitals and lending a helping hand whenever needed.
When they’re not with family, David and Katie find joy in life’s simple pleasures: early mornings in the backyard with steaming coffee, browsing weekend estate sales and thrift stores, or embarking on Katie’s occasional design projects. David practices guitar and follows just about every sport, while evenings often include curling up with Truff to watch international crime dramas, subtitles and all.
They also quietly support causes close to their hearts, donating to organizations focused on addiction recovery, Alzheimer’s research, and cancer support.
