Karate Kicks, Garden Tricks, and Latte Licks: Meet the Webb Family

Justin and Lillian, their children, Evelyn and Parker, and the two family pets, Latte and Ripley. Latte is the newest addition to the Webb family; they fostered a few puppies this winter and ended up adopting Latte recently. All in all, the Webbs are an active family who loved being outdoors, volunteering, and spending time with each other.

Ten-year-old Evelyn and eight-year-old Parker keep plenty busy with a variety of unique activities in and around the M Streets community. Evelyn and Parker are both orange belts in karate at the Chamberlain Studios of Self-Defense in Lakewood. This summer, they will both be a part of the Tietze Park swim team for the second time. Additionally, Evelyn is a strong competitor on her school’s soccer team, and Parker is learning guitar at School of Rock. Both Evelyn and Parker will attend horseback riding camp this summer.

Justin and Lillian, when not keeping up with the kid’s extracurriculars, find plenty of ways to stay active and engaged on their own time. They have season tickets to the Cool Concert Series at the Arboretum. They love to dine out at restaurants like Sister, Ngon Vietnamese Kitchen, and Mi Cocia, and also enjoy hosting dinner clubs and casual grill-outs with friends. They love to play pickleball at Cole Park with friends and family, but the competitiveness doesn't stop there; Justin is on the Mockingbird Dad’s Club Bowling Team, and Lillian plays on TCD tennis and pickleball teams.

Outside of their hobbies and activities, the Webbs stay engaged in the community through service and philanthropy. Lillian has volunteered in multiple capacities with the Dealey PTA. This year, she is co-chair of the school garden, and is relishing the opportunity to watch the children develop a passion for growing their own food. She was shocked to learn that the favorite gardening activity has been weeding, followed by, naturally, tasting all of the delicious fruits and vegetables grown in the garden. Now, Lillian faces her next challenge: finding a way to keep all the bunnies from eating the spring harvest.

Back in M Streets, the Webbs love the community-oriented nature of the people and neighbors. They love that the neighborhood offers walkability to their favorite restaurants, stores, and parks. If the Webbs could offer advice to the new neighbors in M Streets, they would advise getting outdoors and enjoying the many activities available in and around the neighborhood. Living so close to the Arts District downtown and the many outdoor activities available in East Dallas, the Webbs feel lucky to be in a neighborhood like M Streets; it’s a place where you can meet many of your neighbors just by stepping out for a walk.
