For the past 15 years, this Manchester-by-the-Sea family has loved having the best of both worlds: the beach just minutes away and the woods right around the corner. It's the perfect setting for Nala May, their five-year-old English Labrador, who would happily spend every day exploring the trails.

Nala joined the family after they found a breeder in New Hampshire recommended by a friend. It didn't take long to know she'd found the right home.

Her name comes straight from The Lion King. When they first met her, she was pouncing on her littermates just like a little lion, making Nala the perfect fit.

Like many Labs, Nala has never met a snack she didn't like. In fact, if food is involved, she's interested. Her family jokes that she's a professional counter surfer, always keeping an eye on what might be within reach in the kitchen.

When she's earned a reward, nothing beats the marrow bones from Crosby's. And while treats are high on her list, so are snuggles. Nala is known for being especially chatty and isn't shy about letting her family know when it's cuddle time.

Around the neighborhood, Nala enjoys spending time with the black Lab who lives up the street. She's also a familiar face at the Fire Station, Police Station, and when visiting Oliva Enoteca.

If Nala could plan the perfect day, it wouldn't involve anything fancy. She'd head straight into the woods for a long walk, taking in all the sights, smells, and adventures waiting along the trail.

Whether she's making new friends around town, searching for her next treat, or asking for one more cuddle, Nala May is a wonderful reminder of why life is just a little sweeter with a Labrador by your side.
