A Golden Time in the Finger Lakes

Experience the flavors, colors, and traditions that make late summer and early fall one of the most anticipated seasons of the year.

There's a moment in the Finger Lakes when summer begins to give way to fall. The air is a bit crisper in the morning, the late-afternoon light takes on a golden glow, and across the region, farmers and winemakers turn their attention to the autumn harvest.
At Skaneateles Fields Resort & Spa, it's one of our favorite seasons.
Just beyond the resort, Tap Root Fields is in the midst of its late-summer harvest, with vegetables, herbs, and flowers making their way from the farm to the kitchen and onto your table at Fields. It's a beautiful reminder of how connected our menus are to the bounty of the land around us, with the changing seasons bringing something new to discover with every visit.
Across the region, vineyards begin the annual grape harvest, marking the start of another vintage. It's an exciting time for local wineries and one of the best seasons to explore tasting rooms throughout the Finger Lakes. It's also one of the few times each year when nearly every corner of the region feels connected by the harvest — from vineyards and orchards to farms and restaurant kitchens.
The experience continues at Fields, where our award-winning wine program celebrates the very best of the region. Recently, Fields was honored in Wine Spectator's Restaurant Awards, recognizing properties with outstanding wine programs. With more than 65 Finger Lakes wines available by the bottle and eight by the glass, we're proud to showcase one of the country's most exciting wine regions.
This fall, our calendar continues to offer reasons to gather for locals and travelers alike. Tuesday Burger Night has quickly become a favorite, featuring a rotating chef-crafted burger paired with a featured local beer for $30 — the perfect excuse to skip cooking for an evening or catch up with friends over a great meal.
Our Chef's Table dinner series also continues, with an upcoming evening celebrating Island Wines (tickets available at skaneatelesfields.com). Limited to just 10 guests each month, these intimate dinners pair thoughtfully prepared seasonal menus with exceptional wines in our private dining room, offering a unique opportunity to experience the creativity of our culinary team in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
As September unfolds and the landscape begins its annual transformation, there may be no better place to reconnect with friends and family than Skaneateles Fields. Whether you're lingering over Happy Hour on the patio, enjoying dinner as the fields glow in the evening light, or simply taking in the peaceful pastoral views, the changing season invites us all to slow down.
While you're here, be sure to stop into the FIelds Pantry store, where new apparel arrives through the fall. From thoughtfully curated local goods and specialty pantry staples to gifts, it's the perfect place to discover something new or bring a little piece of the resort experience home with you.
For those looking to extend the experience, early fall is an ideal time for a staycation. Cooler temperatures make evenings by the fire and complimentary s'mores even more special. Inside The Spa, the hydrothermal circuit — including Finnish barrel saunas, hot tubs, the cold plunge, and the Himalayan salt inhalation chamber — offers the perfect way to reset for a new season ahead.
As the leaves begin their gradual transformation, it's also an excellent time to take advantage of seasonal resort packages and spa specials, available at skaneatelesfields.com, creating an easy way to escape without traveling far from home.
Some seasons ask us to rush. This one invites us to linger. We hope you'll join us as we enter one of our most beautiful times of year.
