MR. AND MRS. BRAY
If you've spent time walking through Maple Ridge, chances are you've seen Danielle and Malyke Bray strolling through the neighborhood with their two adorable pups, coffee in hand, and a smile ready for anyone they meet along the way.
The newlyweds have called Tulsa home their entire lives, and their story began years ago at Union High School. As members of the same friend group, they quickly became close friends before their relationship blossomed around senior prom. Since then, they've navigated life's milestones side by side, attending the University of Tulsa and later completing the OU-Tulsa Physician Assistant Program together.
In May, Danielle and Malyke celebrated a dream come true when they were married at Philbrook Museum of Art, followed by a reception at Summit Club. Danielle's love of flowers was on full display as she created all of the wedding florals herself, a labor of love that made the day even more meaningful.
At home, their family includes two four-legged companions who are very much part of the fun. Nala, their French Bulldog and first "fur child," is known for her big personality and impressive snoring skills. Waylon, their sweet Basset Hound, keeps life entertaining right alongside her. In fact, Nala is such an important member of the family that she gets her own birthday celebration every New Year's Eve.
When they're not working, you'll likely find Danielle and Malyke doing what they love most: enjoying Maple Ridge. They spend countless hours walking the neighborhood and exploring nearby favorites like Brookside, Cherry Street, Utica Square, and Gathering Place. They especially love that there is always a great coffee shop nearby to keep them fueled for the journey.
Danielle is an avid gardener with a special love for roses and fresh flowers. Malyke enjoys staying active at the gym and is a devoted Oklahoma City Thunder fan. Together, they rarely miss a game and love cheering on the Thunder whenever they get the chance. They also enjoy spending time outdoors with Nala and Waylon, often heading to Owasso Island for an afternoon adventure.
Both Danielle and Malyke have careers centered around caring for others. Danielle works in emergency medicine at the Children's ER, while Malyke serves patients in several rural emergency departments throughout northeastern Oklahoma. Their work can be demanding, but both find tremendous purpose in helping people during some of life's most critical moments.
What stands out most when talking with Danielle and Malyke is how much they value community. They speak with genuine appreciation for the friendships they've built in Maple Ridge and the welcoming spirit that makes the neighborhood so special.
"We meet new neighbors all the time and have such meaningful conversations," Danielle shares. "When family visits from out of town, they're always amazed by how friendly everyone is and how many people are out walking and enjoying the neighborhood."
Living near the island gives them a front row seat to one of their favorite sights: neighbors gathering, children playing, and friends spending time together. It's those everyday moments that remind them why they love Maple Ridge so much.
Looking ahead, they hope to continue building traditions, growing their family, traveling to new places, experiencing different cultures, and maybe even celebrating another Oklahoma City Thunder championship.
Most of all, they are grateful. Grateful for the neighbors who stop to chat. Grateful for the friendships they've built. Grateful for the sense of belonging that makes Maple Ridge feel so much more than a place to live. For Danielle and Malyke, it's home.
