Discover Boulder’s Rich History and Creative Spirit
Located in the heart of Boulder at the corner of Broadway and Pine, the Museum is a hub for history, innovation, and local spirit. The permanent Boulder Experience exhibition allows visitors to immerse themselves in the city’s history, from its Native American roots to the present day. Through interactive displays and multimedia experiences, visitors can explore Boulder’s cultural, scientific, and economic evolution. One of the highlights includes a chance to listen to music recorded at Boulder County’s World-Famous Caribou Ranch, featuring iconic artists like Michael Jackson, Elton John, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, John Lennon, and the beloved John Denver. From its origins as a small mining town to its rise as a creative, eco-conscious community, the Museum brings to life the faces and stories that have shaped Boulder.
An Exciting Year of New Exhibits
The Museum of Boulder is kicking off 2025 with exciting new exhibits that highlight the diverse history and culture of our city. First, we’re proud to present Bending the Arc: A Uniquely Boulder Story of LGBTQ+ Rights. This groundbreaking exhibit explores the journey of the LGBTQ+ community in Boulder, honoring pioneers like Clela Rorex, Mayor Penfield Tate, and City Council Member Tim Fuller, as well as the organizations that helped secure the rights and freedoms we hold dear today. It’s an inspiring look at how the LGBTQ+ community has fought for equality in Boulder and beyond.
Next, we’re excited to showcase Boulder Eats!, a flavorful celebration of the city’s culinary history. From Native American traditions to Boulder’s current food scene, this exhibit explores the rich cultural landscape of food in our community. With interactive displays, historical insights, and stories of local chefs and restaurants, Boulder Eats! offers a feast for both your curiosity and taste buds.
