Meet Beth & Barry Schlosberg of Budget Blinds of Kennesaw
Local Expertise, National Resources, and a Personal Touch: Making Every Home Look and Feel Its Best
Beth and Barry Schlosberg have called the Kennesaw/Acworth area home for over 25 years—and they’ve been making homes more stylish and comfortable ever since. Beth, originally from Maryland, and Barry, from Virginia, met at Buckhead’s 3 Dollar Cafe and have built a life full of family, work, and community. Their two children, Jalen, 25, who works for NBC in New York, and Marley, 23, who’s taking a gap year before graduate school, keep them busy, along with their two lovable Havenese dogs, Murphy and Bandit.
After decades of professional experience—Beth with IBM and Barry in real estate—the Schlosbergs were ready for something new. In 2010, they purchased Budget Blinds of Kennesaw and Acworth, later expanding to Dallas and Cartersville. Part of the largest window coverings franchise in North America, they combine the personal touch of a local business with the power of a national brand.
Budget Blinds specializes in custom window treatments: blinds, shades, shutters, drapery, and motorized options. What sets the Schlosbergs apart? They run a tight-knit, hands-on operation. Barry is the designer, visiting homes, offering suggestions, showing samples, and providing quotes, while Beth manages marketing, appointments, and finances. Their professional installers ensure every project is perfectly executed.
The Schlosbergs are deeply connected to the community, sponsoring local sports teams, youth programs, and charity events. Even challenges like COVID-19 became opportunities—they set up a small studio for demonstrations and developed virtual consultations, a service they still offer today.
Looking ahead, they plan to stay true to their “mom-and-pop” model, focusing on exceptional service rather than expansion. Their advice for homeowners: the right window treatments can completely transform a home’s look, comfort, and efficiency. Motorized options add convenience and security, while many shades and shutters even qualify for tax credits.
Clients notice the difference. Lena G., for example, has called on Budget Blinds four times—from light-filtering roller shades to drapery panels, sun-blocking porch shades, and finally room-darkening bedroom shades. It’s a reminder that creating your perfect home can happen in stages, without stress or overwhelm.
With a combination of local expertise, national resources, and a personal touch, Beth and Barry Schlosberg make homes across the community look—and feel—their very best.
