250 YEARS STRONG. WE ALL BELONG.

In December, I joined the Westerville Rotary (Noon Club), which meets at the Medallion Club every Thursday. I knew Rotary was all about “Service Above Self”, but never realized just how much the club actually does for the community.

One of their biggest events of the year is the Westerville Fourth of July celebration. This year is extra special, as we celebrate the 250th birthday of America! This will be the 64th year that Rotary has hosted the day of festivities.

Each year the Fourth of July has a theme name which is decided by a Westerville elementary student. This year, first-grader Reagan Samborsky from Fouse Elementary had her entry picked in the Rotary’s annual contest. The theme she chose was “250 Years Strong. We All Belong.” Not only will she get to ride on the Rotary Float, but she also received a $100 check on behalf of the Rotary.

The day will start bright and early with a Veterans Honor Guard Ceremony, Kids Fun Run, and 5K Walk/Run, followed by the Westerville Parade! The afternoon/early evening will bring food trucks, inflatables, and a concert! A beautiful fireworks display will honor the 250th celebration and close out the night.
