Meet the Leventry Family
From global adventures to neighborhood gatherings, one family’s story captures the heart of MiraBay living.
Military Moves to MiraBay Roots
Whether you’ve called MiraBay home for several years or are a newcomer, chances are you’ve met the lovely Leventry’s at the clubhouse, a community event, or out enjoying the Florida sunshine.
Dan and Marsha Leventry bring with them a lifetime of experiences shaped by U.S. Military service, global travel, and a deep appreciation for community. The two met while working in the military and have since built a life that blends service, family, and a shared sense of adventure.
Dan, who retired from military and U.S. government service last Fourth of July, now works in the tech space with one of the world’s leading AI companies, often traveling overseas in his role as a Senior Counselor with Palantir Technologies. Marsha continues her distinguished career as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, supporting U.S. Special Operations Command through acquisitions.
Both have called many places home. Dan is originally from Pennsylvania and Marsha from Athens, Georgia. But it was MiraBay that captured their hearts 11 years ago this coming August. After relocating from Germany, the family knew they had found something special the moment they drove through the neighborhood.
“It was just so beautiful,” they recall…and clearly, that first impression has lasted.
Wrestling Mats to Living Room Shows
The Leventry household is full of energy, personality, and a whole lot of love.
Their son Max, 17 (turning 18 in June—be sure to wish him a happy birthday!), is graduating high school with honors and heading to Florida State University this fall. A lifelong athlete, Max grew up playing football but found his true passion in wrestling over the past few years. When he’s not training, you’ll find him at the beach, surfing, playing pickleball, or just staying active with friends.
Then there’s Harper, the family’s creative spark. She’s 7 (and also celebrating her birthday in June - double the reason to celebrate!). Harper is known for her bright personality and endless imagination. She plays soccer, and loves art and music.
And of course, no family profile would be complete without mentioning the four-legged members: Charlie, a 12-year-old Shih Tzu with a cat-like personality who prefers the comforts of indoors, and Teddy, a lovable Springer Spaniel doodle who specializes in couch snuggles and squeaky toy management.
Talents, Passions, and Everyday Joys
Each member of the Leventry family brings something unique to the table.
Marsha has a gift for creating a warm and welcoming home. She’s always dreaming up new projects and finds joy in life’s simple pleasures including quiet moments, family time, and the comfort of home after a busy day.
Dan, on the other hand, is happiest outdoors. Whether it’s boating, fishing, hunting, or tackling a new home project, he’s always on the move… and always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends. If he had his way, he’d be out on the water navigating the globe.
Max’s drive shows up most clearly in his dedication to sports. Having grown up playing football, he developed a strong foundation in teamwork, discipline, and resilience. In recent years, he’s poured that same energy into wrestling—a sport that demands both physical strength and mental toughness. It’s not uncommon to find him training, working out, or pushing himself to improve, always striving to be better than he was the day before. Whether on the field or the mat, Max brings focus, grit, and a genuine love of competition.
Harper’s creativity truly knows no bounds. Whether she’s composing her own songs - without ever learning to read music - or dreaming up and performing her latest “show,” she brings imagination to life in everything she does. She also has a knack for building complex creations out of whatever materials she can find, turning everyday items into detailed, one-of-a-kind masterpieces. With that kind of ingenuity and curiosity, don’t be surprised if one day she’s part of the crew on a future Artemis mission… perhaps to the Moon - or even Mars!
Living the MiraBay Lifestyle
For the Leventrys, MiraBay isn’t just where they live - it’s where they thrive.
They’re active members of the Mariners Club, Veterans Club, and several other community groups, and you’ll often find them at the clubhouse enjoying events like Build-a-Burger nights or Friday live music. They also love spending time at local favorites like Circles and Little Harbor, and recently discovered the Tampa Club for its incredible views and dining.
But what truly makes MiraBay special to them isn’t just the amenities, it’s the people and neighbors, many of whom have become friends for life.
A Community That Shows Up
When asked about their favorite family memory, the Leventrys didn’t point to a single vacation or milestone. Instead, they shared a story that says everything about the spirit of this neighborhood.
Earlier this year, when their dog Charlie went missing, the community response was nothing short of extraordinary.
“Literally 40–50 people showed up at our house to help search,” they recall. “And countless others were out looking and communicating. It meant the world to us.”
That moment—neighbors rallying together, offering support, and showing genuine care—perfectly captures what the Leventrys value most.
“It’s really the sense of community and involvement from everyone,” they say.
The Heart of MiraBay
The Leventry family embodies what makes MiraBay such a special place: a blend of diverse experiences, a love for connection, and a genuine appreciation for the people around them.
Whether they’re hosting, helping, celebrating, or simply enjoying a quiet moment at home, they remind us all of what it means to truly belong.
So next time you see Dan, Marsha, Max, or Harper around the neighborhood please be sure to say hello. And don’t forget those June birthdays!
