Cute On Purpose

From his signature “scout sash” to his annual chicken-related felony, Scout keeps his family smiling with equal parts sweetness and clever charm.

My name is Scout, and I’m a very handsome, very loved F1B Miniature Goldendoodle living my best life on Sorrento with my humans, Lauren and Lewy Lewandowski, and my brother-in-floof, Scuffletown. If you’ve seen a curly guy with a brown sash across his body that makes him look like he earned a merit badge or two… that’s me. That stripe is actually how I got my name! I was born looking like a Scout—and the name stuck.

My journey to Montebello was a little unexpected. I’m originally from Oklahoma, where I was supposed to be auctioned off at a school function (yes, really). But when the highest bidder fell through, fate stepped in—and my parents got to keep me. Lucky me… and lucky them, if I do say so myself.

I may look brave and adventurous, but I have a secret: I hide when my leash comes out. I love walks—just not the leash part. It’s complicated. I prefer freedom, strategy, and negotiation. Speaking of strategy, I’m also quite clever when it comes to attention. If my mom is giving Scuffletown too much love, I’ll casually grab one of his balls and bring it over. Mom throws it, he runs… and suddenly, I have her all to myself. Brilliant, right?

What my humans love most about me is my snuggling expertise. I’m always ready to curl up and provide comfort—especially when someone needs extra love. I seem to know exactly when that is. I’m the kind of dog who makes everything feel a little better just by being there.

Now, I should confess something. I’m a very good boy… but about once a year, I commit a felony. If there is chicken on the counter, all bets are off. I regret nothing.

I’m also what’s known as a “disappearing doodle.” I started life black and white, but over time, my coat has faded into a lovely light brown. A glow-up, if you will.

I’m super-duper spoiled, incredibly sweet, and apparently convincing enough that my parents say they’ll never own another breed again. Honestly? I can’t blame them.
