Roof Maxx

Dried-out roof shingles fail prematurely. Roof Maxx is a revolutionary product that restores your current asphalt shingle roof to like-new performance, adding up to 15 years of life to your existing roof. Roof Maxx restores moisture and extends shingle life.
Scientifically proven to restore moisture to aging shingles, Roof Maxx is a valuable tool for any homeowner. Able to be reapplied up to three times every five years, Roof Maxx could add as much as 15 years to the life of your roof.
Our revolutionary rejuvenation treatment is designed to penetrate deeply and restore the protective oils and flexibility of your asphalt shingles. This extends the life of your shingles and renews their protection against water, wind, and sun for years to come. Roof Maxx treatment involves spraying a solution of non-toxic, food-grade, plant-based oil onto your asphalt shingles. This oil is similar to the petrochemical oil that your shingles naturally lose over time through exposure to the elements. Once Roof Maxx is sprayed onto your roof, the microbeads containing the solution gradually penetrate your shingles, allowing them to absorb the oil. This restores their flexibility and durability. Replacing the oil your shingles have lost slows down granule loss, improves moisture resistance, makes them less brittle, and helps them resist harsh elements like hail.
Roof Maxx’s 5-year flexibility warranty ensures that the asphalt shingles treated will maintain flexibility for at least 5 years post-treatment. The warranty is fully transferable and remains valid even if the manufacturer’s warranty is void. It signifies that the treated shingles will function as intended by the manufacturer for at least 5 years.
The ideal time to treat your asphalt shingles with Roof Maxx is when they start showing signs of drying out and losing their protective coating and flexibility. This usually happens when the roof is 5 to 10 years old. That said, we often successfully extend the lifespan of roofs that are over 20+ years old. This is sometimes possible because shingles were richer with asphalt over 30 years ago—but every case is unique.
Signs your shingles are ready for Roof Maxx include:
-Granules flaking off (often appearing in gutters or downspouts).
-Black stains or streaks
-Shingles that crack, break, or curl
Each roof is unique, so we do a FREE roof assessment to determine if your roof qualifies for Roof Maxx treatment. We also offer replacement roofing, but 9 out of 10 existing roofs qualify for Roof Maxx.
Most insurers recognize that Roof Maxx helps to maintain the condition of your roof. In some cases, applying Roof Maxx can even influence your home insurance coverage positively.
Treating your roof with Roof Maxx can significantly boost your home’s appeal if you’re planning to sell. We’ve successfully resolved many real estate transactions where aging roofs were a concern. What’s more, our fully transferable warranty provides peace of mind to the new homeowner.

I was born in Lenoir and have lived in the Unifour area for all of my life, except for my time in Raleigh when I attended NC State. I grew up on the family farm where we raised beef cattle. My Dad was also a graduate of NC State, and my Mom was a graduate of App State. My wife, Christine, our son Clay, and I own the Roof Maxx dealerships in Hickory and Boone. Clay is also an App State graduate and runs the day-to-day business operations. We split our time between our home in Newton and our condo in Banner Elk, and we all love golf.
While attending NC State, I got my real estate license and began selling at Lockwood Folly Golf Links in Holden Beach. After graduating, I worked for my Dad for a few years at Chemical Coatings in Hudson. I decided real estate and construction were where I wanted to be, so I went back into real estate and also got my contractor's license and began building spec houses. Then, I owned a Realty World real estate franchise and ClayCo Construction, where we primarily did custom construction. I was ready to retire when I discovered Roof Maxx, and when Clay agreed to join us, I was ready to get started. The rest is history!
