Maggie is a 15 yr old chihuahua owned by Mary Beth Turner. As pets do, she helped Mary Beth through some good times as well as some tough times. 

We got Maggie back when we had another chihuahua that was getting older.   Both of our daughters were in school, so we decided to get another pet.

 When the youngest of our daughters was little, she asked to be called Maggie. Mary Magdalene (called Maggie) was my grandmother, who was born on Christmas Day.

The first day we got her. We took her to PetSmart to pick out her own toy. Since then, it is the only toy she has ever played with. If I buy her a new one, she won’t play with it. She only loves her original toy.

She looks forward to the mornings when we go outside. She has a squirrel friend and always wants to see and say hello.

She’s incredibly spoiled.  I always bring her leftovers home from restaurants and make her own food plate. She doesn’t eat dog food. She always sleeps in bed with me every night. She’s also well-travelled. She has traveled to Niagara Falls and the Keys.

I lost my husband, Don, this past October, and I don’t think I could have survived the loneliness, but Maggie would sit beside me and keep me company. She’s good company and follows me everywhere I go. She’s a good listener. She seems to know when you need a hug and will snuggle up to you.
