Did you know that the Muirfins Swim Team has been around for 40 years!? This summer tradition has been popular for so long because there is really no better way to get your summer off to an active and social start. Parents we talked to say they met some of their best friends hanging out at practices or meets and at team hangouts. 

Kids love getting to see their friends every day at practice and enjoy competing against some of their school friends in swim meets and Irish Relays. A lot of swimmers got to know their teammates who were from other schools and then became classmates later on in middle and high school. Joining Muirfins has been the start of a love of swimming for many of our neighbors who went on to be club, high school and college swimmers!

We talked to some of our teammates and asked them a couple of questions and collected their answers. 

Q:  What are you most looking forward to this season? 

A:  Fun Fridays, winning Irish relays again, riding my bike to practice, donuts, inner tube relays, home meets!

Q:  If a friend was considering joining Muirfins, but was nervous, what would you tell them?

A:  Everyone is really nice, you get so much better so fast, everyone cheers for you even if you are not super fast, you might be surprised at how good you get!
