A Summer of Fun in Muirfield Greene

Guess the number of Wagon Wheels.

Muirfield Greene Subdivision is always buzzing during the summer months, and this year was no exception. The neighborhood is flipping, and bringing in younger families each year. It is great to see people "out and about" in the evenings and on weekends.  Luckstone Drive was active as a few of the young girls in the neighborhood created a "Mystery Club" this summer to solve mysteries in the neighborhood (one has to admire their imaginations). The youngsters were also active all summer creating driveway artwork with their chalk. There were two main "planned" highlights this year as well. The first was a neighborhood visit from "Little Ladies Soft Serve" Ice Cream Truck on the evening of July 11th. This was planned and arranged by residents Melissa and Zach Riley - the turnout was a smashing success! Friends from other neighborhoods from nearby drove or biked over to join in on the fun as well.

Each year, Muirfield Greene also has its annual picnic before the kids head back to school.  For the first time in many years, the venue for 2026 moved from the Courtier Court Cul-de-Sac to the Luckstone Drive Cul-de-Sac. Karen Souza took over the reign of planning and organizing the event which was standing room only (literally).  The meal was provided by City Barbeque; each neighbor brought side dishes and desserts; the kids enjoyed many yard games and youngster, Caity Wade, is quite the talented animal balloon artist. She was busy making sure each of her friends received the balloon animal of their choice.

There was also a game of "Guess the Number of Pasta Wagon Wheels in the Jar".  The winner was long-time Muirfield Greene resident John Bock!  The highlight of the evening was a show by long-time local, and well-known magician, Carroll Baker. He warmed up the crowd during dinner by mingling and performing tricks for all the children, those who are young, and those who are "young at heart".   His main show after dinner was amazing and many of the children in attendance were willing participants in the show as well. The grand finale consisted of Magician Carroll pulling a rabbit, not out of his hat, but out of his "magic box".  A rousing, and well-deserved round of applause was given at the end of his performance.

This year was another great event and special thanks to The Souza Family, The Wade Family, The Schostek Family and The Love Family as they were all integral in the planning, setting up and also orchestrating the tear down after the festivities ended.  Also, special thanks to the Abrams, Wade, Zgrabik, and Knapp Families for allowing their yards to become a “park” for the evening.  Everyone is looking forward to seeing what is in store for next year's picnic.
