On the evening of June 3, 2026, if you were meandering home from the tournament, you may have seen the children of Muirfield walking toward Glick Road with a putter in hand and a head of dreams. They were headed in the right direction.

At 5:00 sharp we gathered all the golfers for a photo op with PGA golfer Mac Meissner. Ray DiRossi formally introduced him and thanked him for being part of a neighborhood event hosted for the children. He introduced him by highlighting Meissner's performance at Florida's Lakewood National Golf Club where he shot an incredible 12-under-par 59. DiRossi also noted how special the tournament is for Muirfield Village and how proud we are to host.

Meissner spoke to the children regarding the lessons of life he had learned in the game of golf. He referenced the lessons of integrity, character and patience. He advised them to be persistent; his golf career began at age 5. His respect for Jack Nicklaus was obvious, noting him to be an amazing player but appreciative of what Jack has given back to the game of golf. He called Jack "one of the greats". This was his first appearance at The Memorial and he lives in Dallas, Texas.

At this point all the volunteer hole marshals were in position for the contest. Volunteers included Beth Ott, Brian Sokol, Ray DiRossi, Lauren Merante, Grant Mooi, Gideon King, Andrea Mallinson, Amanda Fry, Stephanie Kieninger, Shannon Richardson, Danielle Maas and Miriam King.

The second annual putting contest commenced, and the winners were awarded trophies. All golfers received "Play Yellow" ribbons to honor the tournament founder, Jack Nicklaus and his effort to raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Winners were listed as follows: Miles (ages 1-5), Grant (ages 6-10), Jack (ages 11-14). James (ages 6-10) and Devin (ages 11-14) were tied in their age category but lost in the tie breakers.

At the end of the night, we all realized how much golf means to our neighborhood and when we take time to pass the love of the game on to the children we have enhanced our village.

I am pretty sure this makes Jack very happy.
