Home Improvements Made Easy with Cameron Box at Ideal Siding

When it comes to siding, homeowners deserve the best team that knows exactly what they’re doing. With his company, Ideal Siding, Cameron Box combines national expertise with local service to deliver renovations that look great, last long, and feel easy from start to finish.
Ideal Siding is a locally owned business focusing on siding repair and renovation for homes here in Columbus. The company’s specialty is using high-end materials like James Hardie, the number one brand in fiber cement, to ensure pristine home exteriors that look beautiful and will stand the test of time.
For Muirfield Village resident Mike Miller, Box did just that.
“For Mike, we provided a stress-free consultation that involved a multi-step design process to make sure he knew exactly what he was getting prior to it being installed on the wall,” Box said. “It looks great, and he sleeps well at night knowing there is a 25-year workmanship warranty to back it up.”
Miller’s Muirfield Village home was constructed in 1979. The exterior featured T111 siding and cedar trim, the soffits were made of wood, and everything was painted in shades of grey, with galvanized steel gutters painted to match.
“Despite having the house painted some years ago with a little maintenance on the exterior, the years had taken their toll,” Miller said. “Weather had chalked the paint, woodpeckers had badly damaged one end of the house, and the cedar trim was rotting and being attacked by insects. Painting alone was not an option as significant amounts of trim and siding would need to be replaced. The only practical solution appeared to be re-siding the house and replacing the trim.”
Miller’s research indicated that factory finished siding and trim from James Hardie (non-combustible, pest-resistent and built for Ohio weather) was his best option. When he came across Ideal Siding, “the color selections were good and the warranty was excellent.” Additionally, James Hardie offered the soffits and other items pre-finished to match the siding and trim, something Miller was looking for specifically.
“It was late 2025 and I needed to find an authorized James Hardie contractor to complete the work,” Miller said. “My goal was to make the exterior of my house as maintenance free as possible, and to have the work complete by Spring 2026.”
A quick Google search gave Miller three James Hardie contractors in the area. He reached out to each of them for quotes, and Box was the first to respond.
“Cameron spent a considerable amount of time inspecting the house, asking follow-up questions, answering my questions and preparing a detailed quote,” Miller said. “The work was to include siding, trim, soffit and gutter, and downspout replacement. Cameron’s quote was the lowest and most responsive. He also indicated the work would take two weeks to complete, weather dependent.”
Box and his team provided samples of Miller’s selections along with before-and-after renderings to be submitted to the Muirfield Association (as approval was required). The only change requested was the trim color, from white to light grey. Even though the color change resulted in a longer lead time and somewhat greater cost, Box stayed with his original estimate.
When the material arrived, Ideal Siding moved on to Miller’s property to begin the work. This was early in 2026, just as the coldest, snowiest weather in several years hit.
“Despite the horrid weather, Box’s team worked continuously, completing the work at the original cost and cleaning up all debris,” Miller said. “The results are spectacular. My house now has a beautiful, near maintenance-free exterior that will last for many years. I fully recommend Ideal Siding [to anyone looking]. My neighbors have gone out of their way to complement my home’s new look. I can’t recommend Cameron enough.”
