Come to Dustin Hochstetler with any question about home repairs and chances are, he not only knows what’s wrong, but also knows exactly how to fix it. There’s not much that the handyman and owner of Nine Four Home Solutions cannot do.

Dustin grew up in Plain City and, having spent his entire life there, has witnessed its transformation from a quiet rural farm town to one of the fastest-growing communities in the Columbus area. Along the way, he’s also noticed the struggles his neighbors faced - finding honest, reliable help for everyday home tasks wasn’t easy. That inspired him to launch Nine Four Home Solutions, a one-man operation dedicated to getting the job done right.

Growing up surrounded by a family of tradesmen, he learned early the value of hard work and skilled craftsmanship. With one uncle operating heavy equipment, another shaping much of Industrial Parkway in Plain City, a father in construction, and cousins running businesses in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, the world of hands-on work was always part of his life. But Dustin’s path to founding Nine Four Home Solutions was far from straightforward. 

After high school, Dustin spent about four years working for a friend’s remodeling business while figuring out his next steps. He then worked for a commercial glass company and spent time hanging garage doors before becoming self-employed and doing labor for a few small remodeling contractors. Eventually, he realized he didn’t want to spend his entire career doing physical labor and joined Nationwide Financial, working in retirement plans and earning his financial license. After some time, he had a change of heart and returned to the trades, working as an electrician for a year. Later, he shifted back to the corporate world, joining a local chemical distribution company where he held four different roles over seven years. 

After gaining both hands-on and corporate experience managing projects, Dustin decided he wanted more control over his career and launched Nine Four Home Solutions, focusing on smaller projects to fill the gap left by contractors who were concentrating on larger jobs. With this venture, Dustin could make a real difference in an underserved area while enjoying the ever-changing nature of the work. 

With his varied and abundant experience, it only makes sense that there’s rarely a repair job Dustin can’t take on - from plumbing to interior finishing to electrical to landscaping, and everything in between. His clients include home owners, real estate agents, HOAs and condo associations, among others.

With a work ethic built on honesty and reliability, Dustin keeps every promise he makes to his clients. When a job needs done that no one else will tackle, he steps up, and on the rare occasion he can’t, he always offers an alternative solution. Dustin understands that homes are personal sanctuaries and that trust is earned when someone is invited in. He approaches every project with respect and care, grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in his clients’ homes.
