Erie the Cat: Kilbannan Ct’s Favorite Feline
For those who live on or around Kilbannan Ct., Erie, the Roby family’s black cat, is more than a familiar face. He’s a beloved neighborhood fixture and a comforting reminder that they’re home.
It seems only fitting that the Roby family’s story with Erie began on Halloween, when they adopted the 3-year-old black cat from a friend. From the start, they noticed that Erie was especially chatty for a cat, carrying his own distinct, very lovable purrrrsonality. His social nature means he loves an adventure, whether it’s traveling the world or enjoying life at home, where he and his two English Lab sisters, Kali and Chowder, are inseparable.
Some of Erie’s favorite hobbies include jumping in leaf piles or chasing the kids while they sled, as well as finding the perfect napping spot - whether that’s in the Robys’ palm tree or snuggled up beside one of the pups. When he’s hungry, Erie goes on the hunt for Honey Nut Cheerios, his favorite snack.
The Robys love Erie’s adventurous spirit and “let’s do it” attitude, which makes bringing him along on family trips especially delightful. Erie is a natural traveler - he loves car rides, adapts well to new surroundings, and enjoys spending time both indoors and outdoors. The family looks forward to taking him boating at Lake Erie.
With such an outgoing personality, it’s no surprise that Erie has become a beloved member of the neighborhood’s furry community. He enjoys evening visits from the local deer, affectionately nicknamed the “Golden Girls” by the Robys, and is often spotted spending time with Bear from across the street or his cousin pups, Messi, Roxy, Nala, and Bentley. But Erie’s fan club extends beyond his four-legged friends. Nearly everyone who walks along Kilbannan Ct. has either spotted him or stopped to say hello. Even the UPS driver has been known to bring him treats.
Erie has become much more than a furry companion - he’s quickly become the Robys’ good luck charm, and most importantly, a cherished family member. In the process, he’s also become a beloved part of the neighborhood, bringing a little extra joy and connection to everyone lucky enough to cross his path.
