Faith, Family, and the Fight: The Journey of Beau Fennick

If you’ve ever met Beau Fennick, chances are you’ve noticed his quiet confidence, firm handshake, and laser-sharp focus, all traits honed both on and off the wrestling mat. At just 16 years old and a 9th grader at Franklin Regional High School, Beau is already making a name for himself through relentless dedication, deep family roots, and a strong faith that guides his every move.
Beau lives in Murrysville with his parents, Heather and Sean Fennick, and his younger sister, Olivia. His family plays a big role in his journey, especially his dad, who first introduced him to wrestling. “We have a long line of wrestlers in our family,” Beau says. “My dad got me started, and I stuck with it because I like how tough it is. Not many people can do it, so I take pride in that.”
Wrestling isn’t just a seasonal sport for Beau, it’s a year-round commitment that has already taken him across the country. One recent highlight? Competing in the World Team Trials in Las Vegas, where he proudly placed 8th in Greco Roman wrestling. When he’s not wrestling, Beau also enjoys golf, though wrestling remains his primary passion.
Balancing academics and athletics can be a challenge, but Beau has developed a solid routine. “I get all my schoolwork done during study hall so I can focus fully on training after school,” he explains. It’s this kind of time management and self-discipline that keeps him grounded and growing.
When asked who he looks up to, Beau doesn’t hesitate: “My dad. He keeps it real with me and pushes me to do better.” He also draws strength from his faith in God, leaning on prayer and the Bible during times when he needs focus and calm.
As for the future, Beau’s goals are clear: wrestle in college and eventually take over his dad’s roofing business, Strongland Roofing. It’s a vision that reflects both his athletic ambition and commitment to family legacy.
