28th Annual Blessing of the Bikes - Bringing Faith and Fellowship to the Open Road

On Sunday, April 27th, the parking lot of Murrysville Alliance Church rumbled with the sound of thousands of motorcycles as riders from across Western Pennsylvania, and beyond, gathered for the 28th Annual Blessing of the Bikes. What began with just six bikers asking their pastor if they could invite a “few friends” to church has grown into one of the largest spiritual gatherings for motorcyclists in the region.
Held just outside of Pittsburgh, the event is more than a seasonal kickoff, it’s a heartfelt tradition that brings together people from all walks of life, united by their love of the open road and their faith. “It’s amazing because we don’t sell anything,” said Pastor Dan Lawrence, the senior pastor and a fellow rider. “Everything we give away is free. This isn’t a rally. It’s just a time to come together and pray.”
From leather jackets to chrome handlebars, there’s no shortage of personality at the Blessing. But at its core, it’s a moment of reflection, fellowship, and new beginnings. Murrysville Alliance’s Biker Ministry reminds attendees that no matter the road they've traveled, from broken relationships to past struggles, Jesus Christ is our Road Captain. Riders are encouraged to lean into their faith, embrace community, and start the riding season with purpose and protection.
As the prayers were lifted and the blessings spoken, engines roared to life once again, sending the unmistakable sound of unity and hope echoing across the hills of Murrysville. For many, this event is a spiritual tune-up, and a reminder that new roads are always on the horizon.
