Panther Functional Medicine & Chiropractic
Personalized Care Rooted in Community and Wellness
Graduation
For nearly 20 years, Panther Functional Medicine & Chiropractic has been helping residents of Murrysville and the surrounding communities improve their health through personalized chiropractic care, nutrition services, and innovative wellness therapies. Founded by Dr. Danielle Marra in 2006, the practice has grown into a trusted local resource for patients seeking a more individualized and comprehensive approach to wellness.
Dr. Marra’s journey to opening her Murrysville practice was driven by both professional goals and family priorities. Before relocating, she owned a chiropractic office in White Oak. However, after welcoming two babies within just 12 months, she realized she needed a better work-life balance and wanted to practice closer to home.
“I needed to work smarter and not harder,” Dr. Marra says. “Working and living in the same community also helped me feel more connected to Murrysville.”
That connection to the community remains central to the practice today. In fact, the name “Panther” was intentionally chosen to reflect ties to the Franklin Regional community and the families who live there.
Panther Functional Medicine & Chiropractic offers far more than traditional chiropractic care. While hands-on chiropractic treatment remains the foundation of the practice, Dr. Marra has expanded services over the years to address a wide range of health concerns and wellness goals.
Patients can also receive nutritional and functional medicine support designed to help uncover root causes of chronic health issues and improve overall well-being. Dr. Marra adds, "I work with patients nutritionally who have conditions like thyroid issues, autoimmune disease, GI problems, and long-haul Covid." Dr. Marra has completed more than 600 hours of postgraduate nutrition training and is board eligible for the Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists, a distinction held by only six chiropractors in Pennsylvania.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri, earned in 2000.
In recent years, the practice has expanded even further with the addition of advanced biohacking and recovery therapies. Approximately two and a half years ago, Panther Functional Medicine & Chiropractic introduced services including red light therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, PEMF therapy, and molecular hydrogen inhalation therapy.
“These therapies have allowed us to help patients in ways I could not help otherwise,” Dr. Marra explains.
The addition of these services reflects Dr. Marra’s commitment to continually evolving and providing patients with modern wellness solutions that complement chiropractic and functional medicine care.
What truly sets the practice apart, however, is the personalized attention patients receive. Dr. Marra believes strongly that healthcare should never feel rushed or impersonal.
“Our patients truly are an extension of my family,” she says. “Every patient is treated as a unique individual and not as a number like in many offices today. We take time with our patients.”
That patient-first philosophy has helped the practice build long-lasting relationships throughout the community. Many patients appreciate the combination of hands-on care, advanced therapies, and individualized treatment plans tailored specifically to their needs.
The office currently has a small but dedicated team of three employees, including Dr. Marra’s daughter, who is helping part-time this summer.
Family is clearly an important part of Dr. Marra’s life. She has been married to her husband, Henry Patts, for nearly 23 years, and together they have raised two accomplished children while building deep roots in the Murrysville community.
Their son, Henry, earned his private pilot license before graduating from Franklin Regional High School and is now pursuing a career as a commercial airline pilot in Florida. Their daughter, Katelyn, recently completed her freshman year at Seton Hill University, where she is studying nursing and plans to pursue nurse anesthesia in the future. Katelyn also plays lacrosse for the university, and the family enjoys cheering her on during games.
Both children were highly active during their years at Franklin Regional, participating in academics as well as sports and extracurricular activities, including lacrosse, wrestling, tennis, track, and band.
Outside of work, Dr. Marra and her family enjoy traveling and discovering new places together. They also share their home with three very spoiled cats.
As a longtime local business owner, Dr. Marra values opportunities to stay connected to the people and families who make Murrysville special. That commitment is one reason Panther Functional Medicine & Chiropractic chose to partner with Stroll Murrysville.
“Being a part of Stroll helps strengthen our connection to the community,” she says.
